Speaker 1: It lies in wait amidst your dreams, where nothing is ever how it seems. It is a portal to a terrifying world beyond the doorway to nightmare. Forty years?
Speaker 2: In the making.
Speaker 3: That was so good. That was so good.
Speaker 2: Hi guys, this is Swan.
Speaker 3: And Crimson.
Speaker 2: And we're just together right now with a lot of nothing to do. No, we've got a lot to do.
Speaker 3: We have a lot to do. Lunar, no. I'm sorry. My kitty kitty is being crazy. Okay, listen. Just listen, okay?
Speaker 4: We've got a lot of real facts okay about the channel and we would love to.
Speaker 3: Tell it to you all right so let's let's go ahead and start.
Speaker 2: Okay we're gonna go ahead and start so i had worked in radio for uh about 20 a little over 20 years about 25 years so i had actually pitched the idea for doorway to nightmare to a lot of people and everyone said that's not gonna work nobody wants to listen to that whatever But I pitched it to Crimson after only knowing her for a couple of years.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 2: And what did you say?
Speaker 4: Oh, I said, write it, we'll try it.
Speaker 5: Right.
Speaker 3: Write it, we'll try it.
Speaker 2: Right. And what happened?
Speaker 4: Oh, well, you brought over the script and then we did it.
Speaker 5: How long?
Speaker 3: Well, that was the next day.
Speaker 4: Okay. That was the very next day. Swan brought over the script, and I was like, what?
Speaker 6: What?
Speaker 3: What?
Speaker 4: But then, after that one, I thought, you know, we'd tried it, and that was done.
Speaker 2: That was the very first episode.
Speaker 7: Yes, it was.
Speaker 2: Called Harvest.
Speaker 3: Harvest, yes, that was it.
Speaker 8: I just don't understand, Cynthia.
Speaker 5: I love you.
Speaker 8: And I love you, Michael.
Speaker 3: Just don't think that it's a good idea for you to meet father right now.
Speaker 8: But we have been engaged for almost a year now. I haven't even met your family yet.
Speaker 3: You must trust me.
Speaker 7: I do.
Speaker 8: But you make it sound so mysterious. Like something out of a Dickens novel.
Speaker 3: No, not Dickens. More like Edgar Allan Poe.
Speaker 4: And then, the next day... Swan brings over two more scripts.
Speaker 2: Yep.
Speaker 3: And I was just, I was like, are you serious?
Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker 3: And he said.
Speaker 2: Hey, you give me a bone, I'm going to chew on it.
Speaker 4: You know.
Speaker 3: And we did.
Speaker 4: We chewed that dang gristle. And, I mean, wasn't nothing else to do.
Speaker 5: No, that's true.
Speaker 2: And we've been doing it ever since.
Speaker 3: Yes. At that time, we, we. Tried to perfect it.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 3: But it was only for you and I.
Speaker 2: Right.
Speaker 3: It was not for the masses.
Speaker 1: Right.
Speaker 3: It was definitely not.
Speaker 2: The play, we premiered it on YouTube.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Harvest was premiered on April 21st, 2021.
Speaker 4: Yes.
Speaker 2: Now, while some may consider the number 13 unlucky.
Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
Speaker 6: For Crimson.
Speaker 5: Crimson.
Speaker 2: It's followed you everywhere.
Speaker 3: It has literally followed me everywhere.
Speaker 2: And Doorway to Nightmare was no exception.
Speaker 4: Absolutely not. Absolutely not. From the letters in my name to the.
Speaker 3: Yep.
Speaker 2: Well, we were producing... Right. We were producing the first season.
Speaker 6: Yes.
Speaker 2: We decided, how many episodes are we going to make per season?
Speaker 3: Well, we didn't decide upon that just yet.
Speaker 1: Right.
Speaker 3: Because we had... We had brought in the peoples.
Speaker 2: Yeah, we had already started getting other people involved at that time.
Speaker 4: And then we were like, well, you know, since 13 is my lucky number, we will do 13.
Speaker 2: 13 episodes.
Speaker 1: Exactly.
Speaker 2: So just before season one ended with the play, let me take a minute. We've done so many.
Speaker 3: Oh, I know.
Speaker 2: The Caller. That was it.
Speaker 3: Was it the caller?
Speaker 2: The caller was the season ending for season one. This is Jay on KRB.
Speaker 5: You're on the air.
Speaker 6: It's me, Linda. Are you okay?
Speaker 2: Yes, Linda.
Speaker 1: Wow.
Speaker 2: Any idea what's going on?
Speaker 3: I don't know.
Speaker 6: I'm at my neighbor's place. Jay, they are all gone.
Speaker 2: What do you mean gone?
Speaker 3: Just gone.
Speaker 6: I've checked all the bedrooms.
Speaker 8: There's no one here.
Speaker 2: I'm scared.
Speaker 5: Have you at least called the police? I can't get through to them.
Speaker 6: Wait.
Speaker 8: I don't think I'm alone.
Speaker 6: Oh, God. Oh, hi.
Speaker 3: I remember you.
Speaker 2: Wait.
Speaker 6: You told me I was the chosen one when you picked me up.
Speaker 3: No. No, stop.
Speaker 6: Stop. No, stop. Linda?
Speaker 1: Linda?
Speaker 4: Linda.
Speaker 6: What happened?
Speaker 8: I don't know.
Speaker 5: Can anyone please call me?
Speaker 2: We found this pattern emerging, so we did a little research. Now, Crimson McKenzie, 13 letters in her name. We did 13 episodes for the first season. The final episode premiered on August 13th, 2021. Which was Friday the 13th.
Speaker 3: And how many people did we have in our cast?
Speaker 1: 13.
Speaker 3: Exactly.
Speaker 2: Exactly. And that included us.
Speaker 3: I know.
Speaker 2: That was with us. So we had 11 other people plus us.
Speaker 9: 13.
Speaker 2: That's crazy.
Speaker 3: And it premiered Friday the 13th.
Speaker 2: Yeah, that last episode was on a Friday the 13th.
Speaker 8: That was mental.
Speaker 3: Absolutely mental.
Speaker 2: So now we come to the no-name host. So for five seasons, we had the host. And he's the one that guided you through the doorway to nightmare. But he didn't have a name.
Speaker 3: No, he did not.
Speaker 2: I just called him the host.
Speaker 1: When you sleep, you enter into another world. Beyond that world lies the doorway to nightmare. Come in. Welcome. I'm your host through the doorway to nightmare.
Speaker 2: So we got a lot of requests.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 2: To, you know, like, what's his name? We got to name him. So you and I sat down one night and we put down, how many did you say?
Speaker 4: 26.
Speaker 6: 26.
Speaker 3: I still see them. 26. Six.
Speaker 2: Which is 13 times two.
Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, it is.
Speaker 2: I just realized that. So we're looking and we're marking off the names like, yeah, okay, that's pretty good. And then we got it down to like one or two.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: And then we finally decided on Artemis Black. We thought that's a good, that's a cool name. I like that name.
Speaker 3: Loved it.
Speaker 2: And we're going to start it for season six. It will be known as Artemis Black.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 2: Not knowing, because neither one of us really watches the news.
Speaker 3: No, we do not. However, the next day.
Speaker 5: The next day.
Speaker 3: The next day.
Speaker 2: Without prior knowledge.
Speaker 6: No, no.
Speaker 3: I don't think anyone had any prior knowledge.
Speaker 5: I don't think so.
Speaker 2: I think it just kind of popped up.
Speaker 3: No, because I love, I love astrophysics. Correct?
Speaker 5: Yes.
Speaker 3: And I didn't even know that there was an Artemis.
Speaker 2: Artemis I.
Speaker 3: Artemis I.
Speaker 2: Returning from its trip to the moon.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 3: And then we hear about that the next day.
Speaker 2: The next, after we've named the character.
Speaker 10: Yes.
Speaker 3: Artemis Black.
Speaker 7: Then we hear.
Speaker 3: It's mental. That's just crazy.
Speaker 2: So, now, this story is basically mine.
Speaker 3: Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 2: While I was working in radio, way back in 1982, I had the privilege of talking with Hyman Brown. on the phone. I literally just called him up. I got his number from the CBS network. They gave it to me and I called him up. I was at the radio station. Now, for those of you who do not know who Hyman Brown is, he was a radio producer and director way back in the 1940s. He did Dick Tracy, a slew of others, but He is best known for Inner Sanctum Mysteries.
Speaker 6: Yes.
Speaker 2: And then in 1973 or 74, yeah, it was 74, he did the CBS Radio Mystery Theater. They did a total of 1,399 episodes. I told him my idea for the show, and this was right after CBS Radio Mystery Theater had gone off the air.
Speaker 1: Yes.
Speaker 2: And he said to go for it. He said you should follow your dream and keep radio drama alive.
Speaker 3: Exactly.
Speaker 2: So it does my heart good when I look at other YouTube channels who are doing similar stuff to what we're doing.
Speaker 3: Exactly.
Speaker 2: Now this is my favorite story. And I'm going to let Crimson tell you about this. I'll read this part. For the opening play of season four, which was titled Every Day, Crimson plays a wife whose husband murders her every morning at 6 a.m. Every single morning. Think of Groundhog Day.
Speaker 1: Oh, yes, yes.
Speaker 2: With Bill Murray. So in one scene, the husband drowns his wife.
Speaker 6: Six in the morning.
Speaker 4: Again.
Speaker 8: Time to get up. Take a shower, shave, and go down for breakfast.
Speaker 1: Wow.
Speaker 2: She is really beautiful.
Speaker 8: I could make love to her right now.
Speaker 2: Right on the kitchen floor.
Speaker 7: Morning, Gerald.
Speaker 8: But maybe I'll just ground her in the sink.
Speaker 7: What are you?
Speaker 4: Stop it!
Speaker 7: Die!
Speaker 1: Die!
Speaker 2: To create the sound effect, Crimson takes a bowl of water. And we were together when we recorded this.
Speaker 3: It was my idea.
Speaker 5: It was her idea. It was my idea.
Speaker 2: I was just going to, you know, maybe find a sound effect or we were just going to do something.
Speaker 3: But why not do it correctly?
Speaker 2: Yeah, do it correctly. So she takes a bowl of water and pretends to drown. You take it from here.
Speaker 3: Okay, darling.
Speaker 4: Well, I put my face in this body of water and I was trying to.
Speaker 3: But it.
Speaker 4: It came back up my nose. And then I was literally half drowning.
Speaker 2: You really were drowning.
Speaker 3: I really did. Just a little bit. But I'm still here, so it's fine. It's fine. It's fine.
Speaker 2: And thankfully you are here.
Speaker 3: Exactly. I'm here and everything's fine.
Speaker 2: Everything is fine. Now, we don't have just one show.
Speaker 3: Oh, no.
Speaker 2: We actually, and as of the writing of this, when I wrote all this out, we actually have, and there's Luna. Sorry, guys. No, it's fine. We now have four spinoff series. Now, but we began way back in season one by introducing, we did two episodes in season one, That we call the haunting episodes.
Speaker 3: I love them. I'm sorry, but I love Fred. I love the Fred ones.
Speaker 2: And that's what we started calling them, the Fred ones.
Speaker 3: Yes, it's the Fred ones. They were, what are they called? The haunting.
Speaker 5: Haunting.
Speaker 2: It's just called haunting. I call it the haunting series. Haunting has to host. Haunting has to host. Haunting takes a vacation.
Speaker 3: But it's the Fred ones in my heart.
Speaker 4: Yes.
Speaker 1: And I love them.
Speaker 2: But it introduced this hapless ghost named Frederick Washington Davis, or simply Fred, to his friends. And due to a mistake, he wound up being invited into the home of Stan and Dorothy Peters, played by the lovely Crimson McKenzie and William Stafford.
Speaker 3: William Stafford.
Speaker 7: I was a little, um, indisposed.
Speaker 10: All quiet on the ghostly front?
Speaker 2: Well, not exactly.
Speaker 1: Uh-oh.
Speaker 3: Now, Stan... What is that supposed to mean?
Speaker 10: Every time Fred says, not exactly, it means that something is going to happen, and usually not in a good way.
Speaker 3: Now, come on, Stan. Let's just hear him out.
Speaker 7: Oh, I don't think it is anything that you two can do anything about.
Speaker 5: Great.
Speaker 10: So, Dot, what kind of movie did you want to watch tonight?
Speaker 3: Now, just a minute, Stan. Fred, what exactly are you talking about?
Speaker 7: Well, you see, there's this friend, and he has a friend, and the friend, well, I mean, my friend, is kind of wanting to help their.
Speaker 5: Friend out.
Speaker 3: You see?
Speaker 10: Was there a sentence formulated in any of that?
Speaker 3: Fred, just Just spit it out.
Speaker 2: And the play started becoming very popular, so we created its own separate series, which is very sporadic. I mean, we did have the grand idea of doing it like once a week, and we were like, yeah, that's going to be too much for me.
Speaker 3: I mean, this is literally two besties.
Speaker 7: A laptop.
Speaker 3: A laptop and a heart full of dreams. Full of dreams. So, yeah. Yeah, it was a little bit.
Speaker 2: That would have been a little much.
Speaker 3: It was just a little bit much.
Speaker 2: Well, in the second season, we introduce the character of Sidney Chase. It was our first two-part episode.
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2: It was called The Casebook of Sidney Chase. I wanted to write a straight mystery. Not a horror mystery, but a literal mystery. And introduced this character whom I specifically wrote for Crimson McKenzie. Yeah. I mean, basically this character comes as close to her real person than any character she's ever played.
Speaker 3: Yeah, I will have to agree with that.
Speaker 4: Yes.
Speaker 2: But she plays the title role of a private detective. And along with her friend, Dr. Alex McDougall, which I play.
Speaker 4: Which is you, and I call you McDougall. Because you know everything.
Speaker 2: Well, no, I'm a reverse hypochondriac. I think everybody else is sick.
Speaker 3: But, yeah, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2: Oh, Sidney, stop it.
Speaker 3: Oh, McDougall. Miss Folsom. Bought that statue last year. You heard her.
Speaker 9: She paid $ 200, 000.
Speaker 5: I have a feeling that it is worth a lot more.
Speaker 10: Try just a little over $ 4 million.
Speaker 2: $ 4 million? As in dollars?
Speaker 3: That's right, Tony. It was bought by Steve Wynn, the Las Vegas billionaire. But then it simply vanished. Vanished?
Speaker 10: That statue is supposed to be resting comfortably between two Picassos at Steve Wynn's Las Vegas home.
Speaker 2: But if Mrs. Folsom has the real statue, what did Steve Wynn buy?
Speaker 3: That's just it.
Speaker 9: The statue that sold at auction was verified as the real Maltese Falcon.
Speaker 10: The question is, how did it wind up in a closed down museum and eventually bought by Mrs. Folsom?
Speaker 2: Uh so and then of course we have her nemesis oh played by uh and sometimes friendly lieutenant anthony ferrari well you call him ferrari.
Speaker 3: I call him ferrari but it.
Speaker 2: Is played by the amazing dave Arkapov.
Speaker 3: He's flipping amazing. He's flipping amazing.
Speaker 2: But now we've done so many, it's become its own series of mysteries.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Speaker 2: They're very loosely based on Sherlock Holmes, but. She doesn't use real... I mean, what did you call it earlier? Logical thinking.
Speaker 3: Yeah, logical thinking.
Speaker 2: Not really deductive reasoning, but logical thinking because.
Speaker 3: Well, I mean, everyone uses deductive reasoning.
Speaker 1: Right.
Speaker 3: If you want to call it that.
Speaker 4: But no, it's... You have to be logical and you have to look past what everyone else is showing you.
Speaker 2: Right.
Speaker 3: So it's a. And.
Speaker 2: And the nice thing about it is, whereas in the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, Watson, well, in the movies and the radio shows and even the TV shows, I think Watson comes across as this sort of buffoonish kind of comic relief kind of character.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 2: But in the original books, he was very intelligent.
Speaker 3: Exactly.
Speaker 2: And he actually helped Holmes in a lot of cases.
Speaker 3: Exactly.
Speaker 11: And that's how I wanted Sydney to be.
Speaker 2: I wanted her to be, have that, what's the word I want? You had to rely on other people.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 4: It's the character, it's bringing the character up from, you know, Who's in that?
Speaker 3: And Alec is Alex.
Speaker 2: Alex.
Speaker 3: Alec or Alex. I call you both.
Speaker 1: Yep.
Speaker 3: But the McDougal or McDougal, he's always behind Sidney.
Speaker 1: Yep.
Speaker 3: He's always back there behind and helping out.
Speaker 4: And Sidney is never like, oh, no, no, it was all me.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 6: No.
Speaker 4: No. No.
Speaker 3: It's like... Alec helped me with this one.
Speaker 4: Yep.
Speaker 3: Thank goodness.
Speaker 2: And we even have a couple of shows that even Lieutenant Ferrari.
Speaker 3: Ferrari. Yes. Sometimes he does. Sometimes he is right. I love to hate him, though.
Speaker 2: I know. He actually loves to do that character. That is Dave's favorite character.
Speaker 3: I'm sure he loves to hate me, too. Yeah.
Speaker 6: But.
Speaker 3: We love to hate each other.
Speaker 2: And Dave actually wrote an episode.
Speaker 8: Oh yeah, he did.
Speaker 2: One Man's Art was the name of it. So what brings you and the good doctor to the hospital?
Speaker 5: I'm just along for the ride.
Speaker 4: So a little birdie gave me the so-called report on Dan the Paint Man.
Speaker 3: I thought I would come down and see what I could do.
Speaker 2: I was just on my way to see him. Care to tag along?
Speaker 3: Tony, are you actually asking me?
Speaker 2: Why not, chaste?
Speaker 5: She's right, Tony. It really doesn't have the same ring as a Ferrari.
Speaker 3: Try harder, Ferrari.
Speaker 2: So, and yeah, he wrote that.
Speaker 1: Episode for us.
Speaker 3: He's amazing as well.
Speaker 2: Now the other. And the other two spinoffs that we have now is, one is Swan's Dead Time Story. Oh, yeah. And these are taken from my collections of short stories.
Speaker 4: And you guys are lucky to hear them because you've got to buy them if you.
Speaker 1: Yep.
Speaker 2: That's right. To get your own copy, you can go to Spotify and download them from there. There are three books, audio books, but I have also put up short stories that I've read, specifically from the other collections. I can't remember how many collections of short story books I have. Like six or seven, something like that. I don't know.
Speaker 3: I'm just saying.
Speaker 2: And then the other series that we just started is Curiouser and Curiouser with Crimson McKenzie. Please tell them about this.
Speaker 6: Oh, my.
Speaker 2: Step up to the mic.
Speaker 3: It's actually true facts, and they are....
Speaker 4: They're really strange. They're strange, but they're peculiar and uncanny. However, they're true, and I love them because they're true. So if you would like some true facts, then.
Speaker 2: And we do this like, I don't know if you'll remember this, but many years ago there was a broadcaster named Paul Harvey who did a show called The Rest of the Story. And he did hundreds of these. And they only lasted about three and a half to four minutes long. And that's what I wanted. I was really hoping that Curiouser and Curiouser would be. These quick little strange stories.
Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
Speaker 2: They don't take that long to tell.
Speaker 6: No.
Speaker 3: And we have a.
Speaker 2: You've got.
Speaker 3: I don't want to say a buttload, because maybe that's.
Speaker 5: We've got a.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 3: Maybe that's a... Yeah. To say, but we do have a... How about a boatload?
Speaker 2: A boatload.
Speaker 3: A boatload. Yeah. We have a boatload to tell you guys.
Speaker 2: Exactly.
Speaker 3: I say buttload.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: So we have become a worldwide phenomenon now in 2023 um i released the uh the show to a major podcast platform as a weekly series and it is now currently doorway to nightmare is currently heard in over 40 countries i counted them up yesterday wow um That's not just through YouTube, but Spotify, Pandora, Apple, Audible, and a whole lot of others.
Speaker 3: Wow.
Speaker 2: I just checked on Spotify alone, we have over 400 subscribers.
Speaker 3: I mean, don't call.
Speaker 2: And really, the podcast part, we haven't really been on that long.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Because I started late on the podcast.
Speaker 3: Yeah, because we didn't know what to do. We just wanted to put it out.
Speaker 2: That's right.
Speaker 3: Exactly.
Speaker 2: So, if you include.
Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2: Sydney Chase, and the Haunting series.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 2: If you include the Curiouser and Curiouser, actually, and I'm not even including the Dead Time story.
Speaker 6: Oh, my.
Speaker 2: We have over 200 plays.
Speaker 3: Oh, my.
Speaker 2: Produced and out there right now.
Speaker 6: Wow.
Speaker 3: I did not think we would have.
Speaker 2: I didn't either.
Speaker 1: I didn't.
Speaker 3: I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of me too.
Speaker 5: I'm so proud of you.
Speaker 3: Be proud of yourself.
Speaker 2: I am.
Speaker 3: Because you are flipping amazing.
Speaker 2: Well, thank you.
Speaker 3: You're welcome.
Speaker 2: It was you that helped me start this.
Speaker 7: I am.
Speaker 2: No, not wow.
Speaker 3: Not round.
Speaker 2: But the way we do this is we write and edit them. Vincent and I do that. Then we cast. We send the scripts out to the individual actors. They record them, bring it back.
Speaker 4: Oh, and they are flipping amazing as well. I cannot say enough about our actors.
Speaker 2: We have this amazing cast.
Speaker 3: I cannot say enough about them.
Speaker 2: Yeah. And then on YouTube, we add pictures and video.
Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
Speaker 2: What did you call it?
Speaker 3: I want to see something.
Speaker 4: Whenever I go online, I want to see something, too. color my imagination.
Speaker 2: Color the imagination.
Speaker 4: Yes yes because i want to see something i don't want to just see a you know and then listen i i am auditory and visual but i need it both yep.
Speaker 3: I'm also a little bit um i mean i didn't say.
Speaker 2: That no you didn't no of.
Speaker 3: Course not um.
Speaker 2: We have also done some adaptations.
Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
Speaker 3: Yes, you have.
Speaker 2: You have, and it's flipping great. These are the classics. Of course, my favorite classic author is Edgar Allan Poe.
Speaker 3: Mine, too.
Speaker 2: I think we've done seven of his. Maybe. I'm not sure. I'm not completely sure.
Speaker 3: I'm not sure. I'm not sure on the numbers.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not either. But we have done Edgar Allan Poe, M.R.
Speaker 7: James, H.P.
Speaker 2: Lovecraft, W. We just recently did W.W. Jacobs' The Monkey's Paw.
Speaker 3: We sure did. I love that one, too.
Speaker 2: And our most recent adaptation was Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol that we did last Christmas.
Speaker 1: Yes.
Speaker 2: That, if I could do a little sidebar here. Oh, yes. That was a pet project of mine that I'd been wanting to do forever.
Speaker 4: And you did it quite well.
Speaker 3: I have to say, you did it quite well.
Speaker 2: Yes. You played the Ghost of Christmas Past. Yeah. And I did an amazing job. Darren Marler even said that. Darren Marler played Scrooge on that one.
Speaker 3: He was flipping amazing. Another year before our wedding.
Speaker 1: And it cannot be helped, Belle.
Speaker 5: Besides, there isn't even enough money for a decent home.
Speaker 1: Investments haven't grown.
Speaker 10: As they should.
Speaker 3: So you said last year?
Speaker 2: Business continues to be poor.
Speaker 3: But you're a partner in your own firm now.
Speaker 2: And barely clearing expenses.
Speaker 3: You said that the partnership was the goal.
Speaker 2: This is for you, Belle.
Speaker 5: I love you.
Speaker 3: You did.
Speaker 1: Once.
Speaker 3: Darren Marler is flippin' amazing. And so is Mick.
Speaker 2: Mick Davis and Raven Adams. Robert Jackson and Mark Wheeler. Dave Arkapov. Annie Mick. Madeline Lane. William Stafford.
Speaker 3: Raven Adams.
Speaker 2: Patience Adams. Patience Adams. Yep. Patience Adams.
Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 2: And if we forgot anybody, I'm sorry.
Speaker 3: I'm so sorry.
Speaker 2: But I'm pretty sure that's everybody right now today.
Speaker 4: They're living amazing.
Speaker 2: In the season three finale, this is where the adding the pictures and the videos come into play.
Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
Speaker 2: So our season three finale was called Yard Work. And in the end, there's a statue. That moves.
Speaker 1: Oh, my.
Speaker 2: Oh, my.
Speaker 3: Oh, my. Oh, my.
Speaker 2: To get that particular video.
Speaker 5: It was terrifying.
Speaker 2: It was terrifying in itself because the statue that you see. And if you watch any of the YouTube videos in the opening before the credits and the actual play starts, you will see a partial picture of Of this statue. We called him St. Thomas. We don't know if there's an actual name to the statue or not.
Speaker 3: No, but he looked like a Thomas.
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's very terrifying.
Speaker 3: He is.
Speaker 2: And he happens to be standing in a graveyard.
Speaker 3: Yes, in a graveyard.
Speaker 2: And we, to get the right effect, went out there.
Speaker 4: Why?
Speaker 3: At night. Why did we do that?
Speaker 2: Under a full moon.
Speaker 5: Yes, it was.
Speaker 2: With a slight storm coming up.
Speaker 7: Oh my gosh, yes.
Speaker 3: Why did we do that?
Speaker 6: Why?
Speaker 2: Because we're actors.
Speaker 3: We're actors.
Speaker 2: That we don't have a whole lot of sense. Oh my gosh. But the visual looked great.
Speaker 3: It was great. So much better here. Now, just get rid of that ugly garden.
Speaker 4: Nora!
Speaker 6: I only called to tell you that I am working late and won't be home until midnight. As for getting rid of the statue, I haven't touched it. I'm sorry, but I have yet to call the mason works to come out and pick it up. So, what are you talking about?
Speaker 3: But it is gone. It's not in the garden.
Speaker 8: Oh, Nora, stop it.
Speaker 3: You're just freaking yourself out. What is that? The statue? It's standing at the kitchen window. No, no, no, no, no!
Speaker 3: Where did you go? I know you're out here! I know I saw it by the wind.
Speaker 3: What are you doing in here? How did you.
Speaker 6: No!
Speaker 3: Stop moving! It's impossible! Stop it! Get away from me!
Speaker 2: No! No!
Speaker 7: No!
Speaker 3: I'll give that to you, even though it was terrifying. I'll give that to you.
Speaker 2: So this next one, this next little fact is very personal for me. We did a Sidney Chase episode called It's a Dog's Life.
Speaker 3: Oh.
Speaker 2: And you hear a dog in this barking and there's a part where he's growling.
Speaker 3: And all that.
Speaker 2: Well, that dog was a real dog. As a matter of fact, it was one of my dogs. Her name was Boodle. Um, she actually had two names. Nala was one of them, but Boodle was what she knew.
Speaker 3: Boodle was what I knew.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: And unfortunately, she was a very good girl.
Speaker 3: She was such a good girl.
Speaker 2: And unfortunately, she did pass away. Um, it, she went rather quickly. Um, uh, she was in my arms when it happened.
Speaker 3: Oh, I hated that too.
Speaker 7: And, um, I.
Speaker 2: Love her and I, I love her too. Dedicated, uh, several episodes whenever we use a dog yes anytime you hear a dog barking or growling or anything that is boodle so i love that little girl she was she was a wonderful she was.
Speaker 3: Down no No, not on the sofa. No, no, bad boy.
Speaker 5: Sidney, are you all right?
Speaker 9: Just a second, Alex.
Speaker 2: No.
Speaker 5: Wait, what's going on in there? Sidney!
Speaker 3: Be right there. Get in there. Now, bad boy, no, no, no.
Speaker 5: Are you all right?
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 11: I'm fine.
Speaker 3: Well, sort of. Come on in.
Speaker 5: What tornado hit this place?
Speaker 3: The tornado's name is Tate, and he is a dog.
Speaker 5: And when did you get a dog?
Speaker 3: I didn't get the dog. The dog got me.
Speaker 5: I don't understand.
Speaker 3: I was mugged.
Speaker 5: Well, shouldn't you call the police?
Speaker 3: No, not like that.
Speaker 9: I was walking up to my apartment when Tate ran up and went inside. I tried to get him out, but you heard.
Speaker 5: Well, that would explain the mess. Where did he come from?
Speaker 3: Alex, I'm surprised at you.
Speaker 9: Okay, when a mommy dog and a daddy dog really love each other.
Speaker 3: Oh, that's not what I meant. I haven't the foggiest idea where he came from.
Speaker 5: Why do you call him Kate?
Speaker 9: Well, I was calling him Bosco until I read the collars. Anyway, I couldn't get him to leave.
Speaker 3: He will not leave.
Speaker 5: What kind of dog is he? A huge one.
Speaker 9: It was all I could do to get him into the bathroom.
Speaker 3: He does not want to leave my side.
Speaker 4: At all.
Speaker 5: So, what are you going to do with him?
Speaker 9: Well, I found lost dogs for clients, so now perhaps I can find a lost client for a dog.
Speaker 5: And how will Tate pay you? In kibble and pits?
Speaker 2: Now this is kind of fun. And I want to reiterate. Is that the right word I want?
Speaker 3: I'm not sure.
Speaker 2: In the entire run of the series, Doorway to Nightmare, Haunting, Sidney Chase, the Dead Time story, and now Curiouser and Curiouser.
Speaker 4: Curious?
Speaker 3: And Curiouser.
Speaker 2: We have never.
Speaker 1: Ever.
Speaker 3: Ever. Ever, never, never.
Speaker 2: Used AI to create voices or performances. Everybody you hear. Is a real live person.
Speaker 3: Oh, we real.
Speaker 2: Oh, we're very real.
Speaker 3: We very real. See, my phone just went off in the back.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 3: And I apologize, but.
Speaker 2: And if you want to see what we look like. you can go to our website, doorwaytonightmare.com, and there is a gallery that has the pictures of everybody that's been involved in the show, past and present. And if you watch the videos, which we premiere Friday nights at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, at the end of the video, we put the picture and the name.
Speaker 4: Yeah, we put every actor... That was on there at the very end. So what you're seeing is real life, folks. It's real.
Speaker 2: And here is a weird little fact.
Speaker 3: Oh, what's that?
Speaker 2: With the exception of myself and Crimson, all of the actors performed their lines alone.
Speaker 6: Yes.
Speaker 2: That acting requires you to listen to the person you're talking to.
Speaker 3: I mean, that's what you would think, right?
Speaker 2: Exactly. However, we don't have that luxury.
Speaker 3: No.
Speaker 2: And none of the other actors do either. No.
Speaker 3: These people are in different parts of the country.
Speaker 7: Uh-huh.
Speaker 3: And they get the different parts of the story.
Speaker 2: Exactly. So they do their lines. They send the files to me.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Speaker 1: And I.
Speaker 2: That's when they come together. The only other actors that we have ever interacted with are William Stafford, Madeline Lane, Carter Sheriff, and Mark Wheeler.
Speaker 3: Yeah. That's it.
Speaker 2: That's it. Everybody else you hear?
Speaker 4: That was in totally different time frames as well.
Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
Speaker 4: I do apologize for my phone going off again.
Speaker 1: That's all right.
Speaker 3: But, yes, these people were.
Speaker 3: Oh, we're going to 15? Season 15 now?
Speaker 2: We're going into season 15, yes.
Speaker 3: Okay, these peoples were like in. We might have met them here and said, Hi, would you like to do a voice for us? And they said, um, what? What?
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3: That's usually what they always say. Um, what?
Speaker 2: I remember.
Speaker 3: And then... they.
Speaker 11: Do sometimes mick davis actually sent us oh my a reel of um uh voices that he had done and we were like he gonna be wanting a lot of money for this yes never has and that is something else i'd like to touch on mick davis is amazing.
Speaker 2: Darren marler darren marler and annie and dave and Raven and Patience. Yes. Robert Jackson.
Speaker 3: Yes. They are flipping amazing.
Speaker 4: They are amazing.
Speaker 3: Everyone that we've ever had.
Speaker 2: Exactly.
Speaker 3: I'm just like, excuse me.
Speaker 4: I didn't put my credit card in that, did I?
Speaker 3: Like, excuse me.
Speaker 2: How much.
Speaker 3: How much would you like for these? How much do I need to pay you? And they have always just been wonderful and volunteered.
Speaker 2: Everybody has been amazing.
Speaker 3: Because, I mean, we don't even.
Speaker 2: We make no money off of this.
Speaker 3: We make zero.
Speaker 8: Zero.
Speaker 2: We have two Patreons. Three Patreons.

Speaker 2: And a heart full of dreams.
Speaker 3: And that's what we do. Yep.
Speaker 4: And I'm so, my heart is so full with the people that lend their voice to us.
Speaker 3: And they're amazing.
Speaker 1: They are.
Speaker 3: And it just, it touches my heart.
Speaker 2: We have recorded in a bathroom. We've recorded in a living room. We've recorded inside of a van.
Speaker 1: Yes.
Speaker 3: Yes, we have.
Speaker 2: We almost got cops called on us on that one.
Speaker 8: Oh, my.
Speaker 4: Yes, because she couldn't scream. And I'm sitting in the back seat going, just go. And I probably did that eight times.
Speaker 2: Took an hour and a half for her to scream.
Speaker 3: But we will not say who that was.
Speaker 2: We're not going to say who that was.
Speaker 10: No, no.
Speaker 2: Not on this episode.
Speaker 8: Anyway.
Speaker 2: We did an episode called Till Death Do Us Part. I want to say this was season 12. It might have been even 13. We used the sound effect of a banging on a locked door as if somebody was trying to get out. And this was accomplished by pounding on a very large paperback book. It took several tries and several books to find the right sound effect. But we did. And that was all you.
Speaker 1: We did.
Speaker 3: We did. I was like, how is this book? How is this book? Let me hear you do it on this book. How about this book? It pays to have books, folks.
Speaker 6: Yep.
Speaker 3: And not even that, but, you know, if the power goes out, you know, you can always light a candle and read your books.
Speaker 2: Exactly. That's exactly right.
Speaker 3: It's amazing. That's why I bought all your books. I know.
Speaker 2: Anyway. Sarah, are you out there?
Speaker 3: I'm right here, Keith.
Speaker 2: There seems to be something wrong with this door.
Speaker 3: What seems to be the matter?
Speaker 2: The blasted thing won't open.
Speaker 10: That's what the matter is.
Speaker 3: Perhaps because I've locked it.
Speaker 2: You what? Sarah, what are you saying? Open this door, immediately.
Speaker 9: It's just a game, Keith.
Speaker 3: A silly little game.
Speaker 5: Come on.
Speaker 10: Open this door.
Speaker 2: I'm getting very angry. Now open this damn door.
